EXCLUSIVE: Burgum “honored to be included in the finals” for Trump’s VP

(MILWAUKEE, WI) – North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum says he has been “honored to be included in the finals” to be Donald Trump’s running mate.

“He’s been so kind to Kathryn and I. He loves North Dakota. He loves what we’re doing there in our state,” Burgum said in an exclusive interview with Scott Hennen, his first since getting the call from Trump. “it’s been an honor for Kathryn and I to tell the North Dakota story around the country.”

Burgum said Trump opened the conversation calling him ‘Mr. Secretary.’

But he said the important work has just begun.

“The most important thing is that he gets back in the White House, because as governor of North Dakota, I’ve got a front row seat on the policies of the Biden administration and how it’s hurting agriculture, how it’s hurting national defense, our two big air bases, and certainly how it hurts oil and gas,” the Governor said.

As for his future, Burgum looks forward to finishing his term as Governor.

“I’ve got to make sure I’ve only got 151 days left of governor. I love that job,” he said. “And I’m going to make sure that we’re driving hard right through the tape. We got a lot of things we want to accomplish before I’m done.”

Burgum spoke exclusively with The Flag’s Scott Hennen.
