(WASHINGTON, DC) – Senator John Hoeven is expressing frustration with Senate Democrats when it comes to the Farm Bill.
“The Democrats blocked us from getting the farm bill done,” he said on The Flag’s What’s On Your Mind Wednesday morning. “Which is counter cyclical. The references prices, had they been updated like I’ve been fighting to do all year; that would have taken care of a lot of this.”
Hoeven said farmers are now ‘stuck’ with a one-year extension to the Farm Bill.
“That’s why this (appropriation of diaster assistance) largely was necessary, other than some of the hurricane and fire stuff,” he said. “A lot of this could have been covered if we weren’t blocked.”
