(WAHSINGTON, DC) – The 2025 Counting and Certification of Electoral votes at the United States Capitol will receive additional security services.
The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday announced that the counting and certification of the votes has been designate as a National Special Security Event, which allows for ‘significant resources from the federal government’ along with local and state partners.
In addition to the 2025 Counting and Certification of Electoral Votes on Jan. 6, the 2025 Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20 was previously designated a National Special Security Event and planning has been ongoing for several months.
