Woman arrested in the death of Border Patrol Agent from MN

UPDATE – A Washington state woman is in custody for the shooting death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Vermont near the Canadian border.

Teresa Youngblut has been charged with the murder of Blue Earth, Minnesota native Agent David Miland earlier this week during a traffic stop.

Authorities say Youngblut and a German man who died in a gunfight had been under surveillance for several days leading up to the confrontation.

 

COVENTRY, Vt. – Authorities say a border patrol agent gunned down in Vermont is a Minnesota native.

Forty-four-year-old David Maland, originally from Blue Earth, was on duty Monday when he was shot and killed by the Canadian border during a traffic stop. Authorities say a German national was killed in an exchange of gunfire. A third person was wounded and hospitalized.

The Officer Down Memorial Page website says Agent Maland was an Air Force Veteran with more than nine years experience with Customs and Border Protection.
