West Fargo Taxes to Decrease Next Year

Taxes next year in West Fargo could be a bit lower if home valuations don’t increase.  That’s the good news.  However, folks in West Fargo will see their utility bills go up.  The City Commissioners finalized the budget last night, a budget that included a cost of living raise for employees, room for an increase of 19 staff including some for police and fire, using reserve funds to balance the budget, and an increase o .8 mills for the West Fargo Public Library.

West Fargo is expecting to collect close to $19.5 million in property taxes.  The city will use $1,707 in reserves to balance the budget at $69.4 million,

The city will increase fees for water, sewer, and garbage.  Overall, the city’s tax levy will decrease 0.25 mills according to City Administrator Dustin Scott.
