West Fargo Fire responds to Cargill

(WEST FARGO) – At approximately 7:14 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, the West Fargo Fire Department was dispatched to 250 7th Avenue NE (Cargill) for a structure fire in an exterior storage building. When crews arrived on scene, smoke was visible from the roof of the building. Crews initially began an offensive attack, then moved to a defensive attack. The entire storage building contained discarded sunflower seed hulls that had to be partially removed to extinguish the fire properly.

Crews remain on scene to monitor for any new hot spots; however, the main fire has been extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation with the cost of damages yet to be determined. There were no injuries to emergency personnel, staff or bystanders.

The West Fargo Fire Department was assisted by the West Fargo Police Department, Fargo Fire Department, Sanford Ambulance, Salvation Army, Red Cross, City of West Fargo Public Works Department, Cargill staff and Southern Valley Fire and Rescue.
