Washington, D.C. – North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer says he’s invited both Elon Musk and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior to visit the state.
While Musk has yet to accept, Cramer says Kennedy wants to come “when the weather is warmer”
The Republican lawmaker is hoping Kennedy will visit with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and MHA Nation, since the Indian Health Service falls under his agency.
Cramer says Standing Rock, which is in need of a new hospital, also has regenerative agriculture projects, plus MHA Nation has a greenhouse program for healthy foods that he’d like Kennedy to see.
“There’s no reason we couldn’t do a ‘Make America Healthy Again’ event,” Cramer told The Flag’s Scott Hennen. “I’ll be running those options by him.”
Cramer says Musk was also invited separately, adding there are “too many opportunities” for Musk to miss.
But Cramer didn’t indicate if the invitation will be accepted.
“As I like to say, Elon hasn’t told me this [invitation] is the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard, so this is progress,” joked Cramer.
Years ago in Congress, Cramer says he played a role in Congress years ago to connect SpaceX’s Starlink satellite services with the Grand Sky business park at Grand Forks Air Base.
“I think we can get him here at some point,” said Cramer. “I’ve invited him to a Grand Farm event, which would be a fun one.”
