Steve Hallstrom’s interview with Fargo Police Criminal Investigations Captain Bill Ahlfeldt
UPDATE – Fargo Police Criminal Investigations Captain Bill Ahlfeldt says the department is working with federal law enforcement to identify who set a fire at a Tesla charging station in the Scheels parking lot on 45th Street.
The department says two chargers were damaged on Friday. Detectives are reviewing video and the department asks people to check security and dash cam video for evidence even if officers haven’t contacted them already.
Ahlfeldt adds the department hasn’t gotten any reports of people break-checking, throwing garbage at or harassing people driving or owning Teslas in Fargo beyond the two incidents Valley News Live reported on Monday. Some people are upset over cuts Tesla CEO Elon Musk has proposed in his work with the Department of Government Efficiency.
A cybertruck owner Valley News Live talked to said Tesla owners are being pushed to buy guns or get concealed carry permits.
