FARGO, N.D. – A North Dakota Trooper was taken to the hospital after his squad car was rear-ended on Interstate 29.
It happened around 7:00 Wednesday morning near the southbound exit for 32nd Avenue South in snowy conditions.
The Highway Patrol says the trooper was inside his vehicle parked in the left lane with its emergency lights on while a vehicle was being towed from the median. The car was hit from behind by an SUV driven by 31-year-old Stephane Kayee of Fargo.
Authorities say the injured trooper was taken to the hospital by a colleague for minor injuries. Kayee wasn’t hurt. He’s been cited for failing to yield an emergency vehicle and not having insurance.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
