FARGO, N.D. – Travis Hoeg announces his resignation as a Ben Franklin Middle School teacher and Fargo North Boys’ Basketball Coach according to Fargo Public Schools.
It is effective April 22.
Hoeg was named Fargo Public Schools Teacher of the Year in 2019. He led the Spartans boys’ basketball team for four seasons going 65-44. Fargo North made the North Dakota State tournament in all his four seasons. The Spartans won a state championship in 2023.
Flag Family News has reached out to Hoeg for comment.
Hoeg was put on administrative leave the day before the 2025 state tournament after an explicit picture of him was seen on social media. The post said he was a teacher and coach and he was sending the image to students.
He was reinstated the next day after Fargo Public Schools determined Hoeg didn’t violate staff conduct or student staff relations. He coached the Spartans to the consolation finals where they lost to the Bismarck Demons.
“I am thankful for the District’s thorough investigation and the findings of no policy violations. I am excited to get back to focusing on my students, players and family. I wish to thank the team, coaches, and the community for the support that I have received during the investigation,” Hoeg said in a statement.
