SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Three new bills are on the table surrounding legalized sports betting in Minnesota.
Republican State Senator Jeremy Miller of Winona is the author of the Minnesota Sports Betting Act. It allows tribal nations to have a license for on-site or mobile sports betting. It would also generate an estimated $80 million annually in revenue for Minnesota.
DFL State Senator Matt Klein of Mendota Heights is proposing a bill to direct tax revenue to youth sports and activities.
The third proposal is sponsored by DFL State Senator John Marty of Roseville. It provides a 24 hour helpline staffed by people trained to assist those with gambling disorders.
