BISMARCK, N.D. – Lawmakers are pushing to increase North Dakota’s minimum wage.
The state abides by the federal standard of $7.25 cents per hour. That’s what it’s been since 2009 on the federal level.
Dem-NPL State Representative LaurieBeth Hager of Fargo notes that’s $15,080 a year working a 40 hours a week before taxes. She adds most apartments in Fargo cost a minimum $1,000 a month.
Minnesota’s minimum wage is $11.13 per hour, South Dakota’s is $11.50 per hour and Montana’s is $10.55 per hour.
