MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead Area Public Schools and Moorhead Police thwart a potential threat at the Moorhead High School Career Academy.
The district says at 9:40 Monday morning the district was notified about the threat involving the student. When the student arrived at 10:25, they were apprehended with a gun. Moorhead Area Public Schools says the situation was “promptly resolved without incident” and its threat assessment processes have been “instrumental in identifying and addressing risks proactively.”
“We are grateful for the rapid response and collaboration between our staff and law enforcement,” Superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak said. “The safety, security and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities, and we are proud of the systems and protocols in place to address situations like this effectively.”
