STAND close to finalizing staying put near the Cass County Jail

FARGO, N.D. – The President and CEO of Sex Offender Treatment and Assessment North Dakota says the non-profit is close to an agreement to stay at its location near the Cass County Jail.

STAND originally planned to move to 2627 University Drive across from The Bowler. People including the South University Drive Coalition were concerned that location is within a mile of the YWCA and Fraser shelters and Eagles Elementary.

“STAND had been meeting with strategic partners for a couple of weeks and these meetings moved further and further up the chain as conversations evolved which opened up more options,” STAND President and CEO Dr. Stacey Benson said.

Benson adds she’s meeting with Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney on Monday and her goal is everything with the location by the Cass County Jail will be finalized by then. She said previously that location was too small and not feasible to add onto.

Dr. Benson talked about the work STAND does and the non-profit’s search for a new building on The Jay Thomas Show. You can listen by clicking here.
