Scott Hennen’s interview with Sen. Kevin Cramer
WASHINGTON – North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer is aware of protests against him, but he calls them “feckless”.
Cramer has been aware of North Dakotans worried about cuts being made by Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency and reported cuts to the Veterans Administration. However, he says those cuts will be in non-health care positions. Cramer adds the biggest protest he’s seen against him and President Donald Trump are eight people.
“I’ve had two days full of dancing competitions, volleyball games and soccer matches throughout Bismarck-Mandan. Not a single person, and I’ve seen hundreds of them, has raised this issue as a concern,” Cramer said.
Cramer says he supports people’s first amendment rights to free speech.
He also would like to bring Musk to North Dakota to introduce him to officials at the University of North Dakota’s aerospace program.
“Elon and I are getting to understand each other better every day. Maybe I can get him up to North Dakota, but I don’t want to take him away from the important work he’s doing. We’re really overpaying him for that,” Cramer joked.
