WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds introduced a bill to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education.
The Returning Education to Our States Act calls for Department of Education duties to be split among the Interior, Treasury and Labor Departments, among others.
Rounds says the purpose for the legislation is to give states more control over their own Departments of Education.
