Satellite West Fargo Public Library location opening at City Hall

WEST FARGO, N.D. – A satellite location of West Fargo Public Library will open inside City Hall March 18.

“West Fargo residents have been requesting a library south of the interstate for years. We are excited to provide a space so those who live and work in the area can more easily access library resources,” Library Director Jenna Kahly said.

Library officials says the new location will offer a rotating selection of books, a place to pick up holds, study areas, computers and printing services. The satellite location will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 4:30 PM and have a capacity of 30.

“More people are using the library than ever before. This satellite location is a great step toward meeting the needs of our growing community,” Kahly explained.

Funding for the project came from $111,412 in capital improvement sales tax funds and a $15,000 donation from the nonprofit Friends of the West Fargo Public Library. The satellite location will also have $8,000 worth of shelving from the Divide County Public Library in Crosby, North Dakota.

“We tried to be as cost-efficient as possible while creating a welcoming space that will meet the expectations of library users. We are so grateful to the City Commission and our community supporters for helping make this a reality,” Kahly said.
