Red River Valley Sportsmen’s Show returns to Fargo

Fargo, N.D. – The Red River Valley Sportsmen’s Show is back at the Fargodome.

It’s the 60th annual running of the boating, camping and travel event that draws some 20,000 attendees each year.

“This is exciting,” Brian Schinn with Cenaiko Productions told Flag Family Media’s Steve Hallstrom this week.  “The Fargodome is packed and we’re expecting a great weekend here.”

The four-day show, which started on Thursday, will feature hundreds of exhibitors on the show floor through Sunday March 9th.

Among the attractions, a wildlife adventure center will have alligators, snakes, mini-pigs and even a sloth on display.

Families can also bring their kids to take part in workshops and free fishing seminars.

Plus, there’s a live trout pond for fishing.

Schinn says attendees can take home what they catch, but only one fish per person.

“It’s like three shows in one,” said Schinn, who also highlighted the vacation portion of the event.

“If you want to book a fly fishing trip to Canada, or an African safari, they’ve got it all right there,” said Schinn.

Attending celebrities and speakers will include some of the top professional anglers in the world.

Tom Huynh, who won this year’s National Walleye Tour Championship on Lake Huron, is hosting a seminar entitled “Mastering Forward Facing Sonar.”

Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame member Ted Takasaki will be on hand to share slip bobber secrets at jigger tips for walleyes.
