Petitions Filed To Recall DFL Lawmakers

MINNESOTA – Petitions to recall DFL lawmakers from their seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives are being submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office.

The petitions are the result of a boycott earlier in the session as part of an attempt to prevent a house quorum in order to stop operations until a power-sharing arrangement was reached.

The lawmakers petitioned to be recalled so far include Speaker Emeritus Melissa Hortman and State Representatives Brion Curran of White Bear Lake, Kristin Bahner of Maple Grove, Lucy Rehm of Chanhassen, Julie Greene of Edina and Steve Elkins of Bloomington.

Every petition has to have a minimum of 2,500 signatures from qualified voters living in the district.
