FARGO, N.D. – One person is hurt after a natural gas explosion at a food processing plant in Fargo.
Fire crews responded to the 300 block of 40th Street North around 9:30 Wednesday morning. The building was evacuated and the natural gas line was shut off before the fire department arrived. Fire officials say crews saw a natural gas explosion in a heater. They stayed on scene to put out smoldering items to make sure flames don’t spread.
The fire department says one person was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Another person was evaluated at the scene, but didn’t want to be taken to the hospital.
Fire officials believe a natural gas leak started the explosion, but an investigation is ongoing. A estimate of damages hasn’t been announced.
