Off-duty sheriff’s deputy seriously injured in Norman County crash

(TWIN VALLEY, MINN) – A 41-year-old Twin Valley man has been transported to Fargo after sustaining serious injuries in an accident east of Twin Valley.

The Norman County Sheriff’s Office says it happened late Thursday night. Deputies received multiple reports of a male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of County Highway 29 and 460th Street, nine miles east of Twin Valley. A dog was also reportedly struck.

Authorities determined a 2014 Chrysler 200, driven by 34-year-old Dalton Moore, of Twin Valley, was eastbound on Highway 29 when he struck a dog. The pedestrian crossed the highway to attend to the injured dog when he was struck by a westbound Chevy Tahoe, driven by 21-year-old Jaidan Bartz.

The pedestrian is identified as Christopher Lee, an off-duty Norman County Deputy Sheriff.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
