North Dakota group react to Senate’s sustaining of veto on Senate Bill 2307

(BISMARCK, ND) – The statewide nonpartisan group Right to Read North Dakota is reacting to the North Dakota Senate’s sustaining of Governor Kelly Armstrong’s veto on Senate Bill 2307.

The group said that, while the bill has been defeated, damage is already done by the rhetoric that surrounds the bill. Librarians and educators, the group says, have faced an ‘onslaught of misinformation, vilification and personal attacks.’

The group calls on Armstrong, legislative leaders and elected officials ‘to de-escalate the situation.’
