(BISMARCK, ND) – The North Dakota House has passed a concurring resolution that will bring a vote to the electors regarding a proposed constitutional amendment.
“This would add language to the constitution that would limit an amendment to be only one subject,” Rep. Steve Vetter told the House Tuesday. “This would be for amendments proposed by the legislature and through the people through the initiated process.”
Rep. Mike Lefor, House Majority Leader, spoke in favor of the measure.
“This measure provides clarity in stopping those who wish to place multiple topics onto a measure to change our state’s constitution,” he said.
The House voted 68-25 to pass the resolution. The resolution, earlier this session, passed the Senate 46-1.
