Fargo, N.D. – An ex-lawmaker and former North Dakota Insurance Commissioner is issuing a statement about the latest report into Ray Holmberg and his alleged conversations with others about his criminal sexual behavior with minors.
Jim Poolman released a statement on Facebook this past Monday night after a photo of himself and Holmberg was posted on social media.
Poolman, who was a state representative for almost a decade during most of the 1990’s, admits to working with Holmberg in the past but never knew about his activities.
Poolman believes he’s being targeted because he recently came out as gay and thinks he is “being falsely grouped into this social media guesswork…just one more misguided example of this rumor mongering misinformation.”
Almost 2 years ago, Poolman says he was interviewed by Homeland Security about Holmberg and answered “all of the questions during my brief interview”.
Poolman says he hasn’t hear from federal law enforcement since then “because I was not involved, knew nothing of his heinous activities and have done nothing illegal.”
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation recently crafted a report documenting conversations Holmberg had with others.
Holmberg was recently sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for traveling overseas to Prague with the intent to have sex with underage boys.
