MOORHEAD, Minn. – A Moorhead police captain is currently on administrative leave after a complaint was received by the city.
While the nature of the complaint is unknown, the city’s communications coordinator says in a statement to Flag Family Media that the complaint against Deric Swenson was filed under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
The act is a state law that controls how government data is collected.
In his role at the department, the city says Swenson handles department support services such as administering funds, preparing invoices and department information officer.
Swenson has worked for the Moorhead police department since November of 2000.
