Moorhead man sentenced to jail time following April 2023 murder

(MOORHEAD, MINN) – A Moorhead man is sentenced following an April 2023 murder.

Robert Icanberry was sentenced to more than 30 years in jail on second degree murder with intent charges. The sentence was handed down in the Seventh Judicial District Court at the Clay County Courthouse by Judge Michael Leeser.

According to court documents, Icanberry was with the victim, 60-year-old Terry Klevgaard, of Moorhead. Police were called to Gateway Gardens on April 17, 2023, for a welfare check when they found Klevgaard dead in the apartment. Authorities found him laying on his stomach with a pool of blood near him. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, which determined Klevgaard’s death to be ‘homicide caused by multiple sharp force injuries.’

Icanberry was located in Fremont, California.

In addition to the jail time, Icanberry is required to pay $210 in fines and fees.
