Moorhead City Council unanimously approves Helmick as police chief

(MOORHEAD, MINN) — Moorhead officially has a new police chief.

Christopher Helmick was approved by the Moorhead City Council. Councilman Ryan Nelson calls Helmick an ‘outstanding standup individual’ and says the city is lucky to have him as a candidate. His first day on the ground in Moorhead is April 14.

He comes to Moorhead from the Fargo Police Department, where he has served since 2001 and is currently a Captain. The vote was unanimous.
