(MOORHEAD, MINN) — The Moorhead City Council is set to act on approving its new police chief.
The council is set to approve City Manager Dan Mahli’s recommendation that Christopher Helmick be named the next chief of police, succeeding Shannon Monroe. Helmick has served in law enforcement with the City of Fargo since 2001. He presently holds the rank of Captain and has been assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division, Neighborhood Services Division, as well as the Professional Standards Division.
If approved by the Council, Helmick’s first day would be April 14.
