MN House at 67-67 tie, two races headed for recount

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The balance of the Minnesota House of Representatives is still up in the air.

Results show a 67 to 67 tie with 100 percent of precincts reporting, but two races look to be headed to a recount. In Minnesota a recount is called if the race is within a half a percent margin.

The closest race is in Shakopee where DFL State Representative Brad Tabke leads Republican Aaron Paul by 13 votes. In St. Cloud, DFL State Representative Dan Wolgamott is leading Republican Sue Ek by 28 votes.

In the Minnesota Senate, DFLer Ann Johnson Stewart defeated Republican Kathleen Fowke in the Minnetonka area district’s special election giving Democrats a one seat majority.
