WASHINGTON – Four Republican members of Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation write to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon about their concerns with election integrity.
Representatives Michelle Fischbach, Brad Finstad, Pete Stauber and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer say 20 ballots have gone missing from Shakopee’s 10th precinct. DFL State Rep. Brad Tabke leads Republican Aaron Paul by 14 votes for a Minnesota House of Representatives seat in the area. They’re concerned about results in Sherburne County where the Secretary of State’s website showed 100 percent of precincts reporting on Election Day and projected winner was changed the next day to DFL State Representative Dan Wolgamott of St. Cloud.
The Republican members of Congress want reports on the steps Simon plans to take if the missing 20 ballots from Shakopee aren’t found, a list of reported election reporting and result discrepancies and errors, reasons why the discrepancies and errors occurred, and if they have been resolved, changes the Secretary of State’s office will pursue in the next legislative session to ensure that elections are accurate and widely accepted in the future, and action the Secretary of State’s Office “to hold counties with errors and discrepancies accountable”.
