(FARGO, ND) – A Fargo State Senator is introducing legislation that could increase staffing at the North Dakota Ethics Commission.
Senator Tim Mathern’s legislation, presented to the House Appropriations – Education and Environment Division committee, comes on the heels of the sentencing of former state Senator Ray Holmberg, sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in a federal case of intent to travel to engage in commercial sex with minors in the Czech Republic.
His amendments to Senate Bill 2004 would add a total of 4-5 positions with a $1.4 million to $1.5 million cost per biennium.
No action was taken.
