Man shot and killed by ND authorities during domestic dispute call

Watford City, N.D. – A man was shot and killed by a McKenzie County Sheriff’s Deputy who was responding to reports of a domestic dispute south of Watford City.

On their Facebook page, the sheriff’s office says deputies were called to check out the report at a home just after 7pm on Monday night.

That’s when the sheriff’s office says “an officer-involved shooting took place” but wouldn’t specify what exactly led up to the shooting.

The man who was shot was taken to McKenzie County Hospital where he later died.

Based on the sheriff’s office policy, the deputy who opened fire is now on paid administrative assignment as an investigation continues.
