(FARGO, ND) — Officials in Fargo are moving ahead with plans to provide a new facility that would enable area homeless residents to access city services.
Meeting with local community leaders on Friday, Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney outlined a proposal he plans to bring to the Fargo City Commission’s next meeting on Monday, December 23rd. In September, commission members enacted a ban on camping on public property in September that also provided exceptions for people with nowhere else to go.
The mayor’s proposed “Fargo Community Care and Deflection Center” would provide at least 30 services and incorporate the efforts of 30 community organizations.
