Homicide investigation underway in Moorhead

(MOORHEAD, MINN) – A homicide investigation is underway in Moorhead.

Police were called to the 2700 block of 14th Street South on reports of gunshots. Additional information at the time was provided that someone had been reportedly struck by gunfire.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a male victim who had a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were initiated, but the man was pronounced dead on scene.

Members of the public are asked to stay away from the area as the crime scene is active. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the processing of the homicide scene.

Moorhead Police say early information shows that the act does not appear to be random in nature.

Moorhead Police say the suspect was seen leaving the scene in a newer Chevy midsize SUV, light green in color. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
