FARGO, N.D. – Hector International Airport announces 12 consecutive months of a record amount of passengers.
Airport officials say this is “a testament to the growing role the airport plays in connecting the region to the world.”
One million one hundred thousand passengers got on and off planes at Hector in 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
“Airports do more than connect people to places – they connect communities to opportunity. That’s exactly what we’ve seen at Hector over the past year,” Executive Director of the Municipal Airport Authority Shawn Dobberstein said.
More than 348 million pounds of cargo was moved through Hector Airport in 2024 “demonstrating its growing importance as a hub for business and global trade” airport officials say.
The airport is undergoing improvements to keep up with demand with the expansion of the terminal and a new parking ramp and skyway. The four-level parking garage will add 1,000 parking spaces. Airport officials expect it to be completed this summer. The terminal expansion will add four gates, an expanded security checkpoint, a children’s play area and more accessible restrooms. Work is expected to be finished in 2027.
