FARGO, N.D. – A former West Fargo Hockey Association employee is accused of stealing $68,853 from the organization.
Steven Lyon has been charged with felony theft.
West Fargo Hockey Association Executive Director Jeremy Jorgenson says the organization found out about the missing money during a daily audit of electronic pull tab machines. Jorgenson says Lyon admitted to taking the money and gave it back to the association when he was confronted. The organization reported the theft to West Fargo Police and the state.
“We are thankful for our internal auditor’s attention to detail as well as policies and procedures in place that were able to catch this,” Jorgenson said.
