LISBON, Ohio – A former Minneapolis police officer connected to the death of George Floyd will be a free man soon.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons says J. Alexander Kueng is scheduled to be released from an Ohio prison Wednesday.
He was one of four officers who were convicted for the death of Floyd in 2020. Kueng was charged at the state level with three-and-a-half years of prison time after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting second degree manslaughter. He also served a three-year federal sentence after he was charged with violating Floyd’s rights
Kueng will be under supervision in his state and federal cases.
