NORTH DAKOTA – Wildfires burned thousands of acres in Central North Dakota’s Sheridan and Emmons Counties over the weekend.
Goodrich Fire Chief Brian Galvin says up to 3,500 acres may have burned. He says at least two firefighters were hurt and one rescue truck was destroyed. One of the injured firefighters was airlifted to a Twin Cities burn unit.
National Guard Blackhawk helicopters were called in to help along with Game and Fish and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
