(FARGO, ND) — Fargo Public Schools is explaining the reasoning for the suspension of middle school teacher and Fargo North boys basketball coach Travis Hoeg.
Earlier this week, the district announced they were placing the teacher and coach on “administrative leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.” The district, at the time, couldn’t comment further.
When asked about the chain of events, spokeswoman AnnMarie Campbell said, “Due to the nature of the allegations and in accordance with District AP 5223 – Administrative Leave and Suspension, Mr. Hoeg was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.” She went on further to say the leave was “taken to maintain the integrity of our learning environment and ensure adherence to professional conduct standards.”
The district found Hoeg “did not violate AP 5255 Staff Conduct or AP 5256 Student-Staff Relations.”
The allegation was that an explicit image of Mr. Hoeg was being circulated on social media. The social media post further indicated that Mr. Hoeg was a teacher and coach and that he was sending the explicit image to “male and female students,” Campbell said.
