One dead, two injured after early morning domestic aggravated assault, shooting in Fargo

10 a.m. update:

(FARGO, ND) – One man is dead and two people were injured following an early morning domestic aggravated assault and shooting incident in Fargo.

According to Fargo Police, the incident happened at 2:19 a.m. in the 5500 block of 36th Avenue South. It was called in as a domestic aggravated assault and shooting.

Upon arrival and after an initial investigation, officers learned the suspect fled the scene, after chasing the victim into an occupied neighboring unit, at which time shots were fired by the suspect. An occupant of the unit was struck by gunfire, and both the victim and occupant were taken to a local healthcare facility for treatment of injuries which are non-life threatening.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 800 block of 34th Street North after utilizing the city’s FLOCK camera system. The Red River Valley SWAT’s armored Bobcat vehicle was used to attempt to make contact with the driver, who was not responding to officer’s commands. A drone was then flown to look inside the vehicle.

Officers found the suspect dead with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Fargo Police.

(FARGO, ND) — Fargo Police are on the scene of an incident, and are asking the public to avoid the area.

It’s near the 5500 block of 36th Avenue South and the 800 block of 34th Street North.

More information will be released as it becomes available, but Fargo Police say there is no known threat to the public at this time.
