Fargo City Commission approves final 2025 budget

(FARGO) – A packed room at Fargo City Hall Monday night witnessed the Fargo City Commission deliberate over the 2025 city budget for more than an hour. At the end of the discussion, Fargo City Commissioners narrowly passed the Mayor’s budget as presented. The budget called for just over $132.2 million dollars in general fund expenditures in 2025. It also calls for just over $132.2 million dollars in general fund revenues, making for a neutral budget. Personnel expenses total nearly 75 percent of the entire 2025 budget’s expenses. On the revenue side, more than 30 percent comes from taxes – totaling a budgeted amount of more than $43.8 million dollars in the 2025 budget.

The budget passed 3-2, with Commissioners Dave Piepkorn and Michelle Turnberg voting against the budget.
