Fargo Arts and Culture Commission celebrates 10-year milestone

(FARGO, ND) – Members of the Fargo City Commission and Arts and Culture Commission joined for a joint meeting to discuss the past 10 years of work of the Arts and Culture Commission.

The Commission is the result of the Go 2030 plan.

A recent survey of community members show that 86 percent of respondents say investing in arts and culture is important to the community’s quality of life and livability, with 79 percent saying it’s important to business, economy and local jobs.

Nicole Crutchfield, Director of Planning and Development at the City of Fargo, says more than 1,100 volunteer hours have been put in by volunteers and partners over the 10 years of the Arts and Culture Commission’s existence.

Funding for the programs come from capital funds, grants and foundations along with public arts funds.
