(FARGO, ND) – Despite backing from NDSU head football coach Tim Polasek, a group of five Bison football players are likely not able to continue to reside in their home in northeast Fargo after a decision was made by the Fargo Planning Commission.
The issue stems from a July 2024 finding that a zoning violation had occurred at the location. By Land Development Code standards, no more than three unrelated persons living in a single residential unit was not allowed in a home zoned SR-2, Single-Dwelling Residential.
Brad McCaslin, who owns the home with his family, said the majority of those in the neighborhood support the five living together – despite some initial concerns.
“These five young men have earned the trust and the respect of those living around them through their actions, their integrity, their willingness to help,” he said.
A Conditional Use Permit had been requested.
Polasek said he was in attendance ‘to have the backs of some of the best people that live in Fargo.’
“These guys are men of character,” he said. “They live a very regimented schedule. I have all the confidence in the world that these guys won’t let me down.”
The request for the permit was denied 7-0.
