Court documents: Suspect fired ‘multiple rounds’ at victim in fatal July 4 shooting

(GRAND FORKS) — Court documents filed in Grand Forks County District Court on Friday shed some light into a shooting in a downtown bar that left one man dead.

Officers were dispatched to Sledsters Food and Brew on July 4 for a person who had been shot inside the bar. When they arrived on scene, authorities located an unresponsive male laying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

The male, who has not been identified by authorities, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Witnesses observed the suspect, Nicholas Narveson, withdraw a handgun and fire multiple rounds at the victim prior to fleeing, court documents state.
