Cass County Sheriff’s Office obtains Mobile Command Post vehicle from area fire department

(CASS COUNTY, ND) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has added a new vehicle to its fleet.

“The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of a Mobile Command Post,” Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said. “This new addition enhances our agency’s capabilities to serve the community effectively.”

He says the office has been working to obtain a unit like the one for several years, as the office has times when they respond to major crime scenes or critical incidents and they do not have all the equipment needed at the scene due to lack of space in the patrol and investigator vehicles to store the equipment.

Cass County was able to partner with the Casselton Fire Department to obtain the fire department’s 1993 Command Post vehicle with low miles on it. The vehicle be repurposed to fit the needs of the department.

“This is a great use of taxpayer dollars, although not new, purchasing an older piece of equipment that still has lots of life left in it and reinvesting those taxpayer dollars right back into our communities,” Jahner said. “It will always remain a high priority of this Office to provide the highest level of public safety to our citizens by forming strong relationships, being progressive through technology, resources and maintaining fiscal responsibility to taxpayers.”
