(GRAND FORKS, ND) – Grand Forks County Jail Administrator Bret Burkholder is without a job.
Flag Family Media News has learned that Burkholder’s last day with the County was Tuesday. Grand Forks County Human Resources Director Michele Thiel confirmed the news Wednesday afternoon. She was unable to comment further, referring all questions to Sheriff Andy Schneider, as Burkholder’s position was under the purview of Schneider.
In a statement to Flag Family Media, Schneider said the county wants to ‘thank him for his service and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.’
Earlier this month the County Commission recommended firing Burkholder saying he didn’t spend Back The Blue grant funding properly.
