WASHINGTON – Former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum’s Interior Secretary nomination will be put to a vote Thursday by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
That’s according to a spokesperson for Senator John Hoeven, a member of the committee.
Meanwhile, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s Homeland Security Secretary nomination has been approved by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in a 13 to 2 vote. Democratic Senators Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Ruben Gallego Arizona voted against Noem.
Her confirmation now moves to the full Senate for a vote.
