UPDATE: A 63-year-old man rescued from the Red River in Moorhead on Wednesday has died at the hospital according to Moorhead Police.
The department is still investigating how he got into the water, but say they don’t believe there’s a risk to public safety.
The man’s body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office in St. Paul for an autopsy. His name is being withheld until family is notified.
MOORHEAD, Minn. – Authorities in Moorhead say a man has been transported to Sanford Hospital after being found unresponsive in the Red River.
Police were dispatched to the 4300 block of South River Haven Road on a report of a missing person. When they arrived on scene, they located the adult male victim unresponsive in the river.
The Moorhead Fire Department responded and removed the victim from the water. His condition is unknown.
