Attempt to locate individual leads to three arrests in Fargo

(FARGO, ND) – An attempt to locate one individual on active warrants resulted in three arrests by the Fargo Police Department on Sunday.

At 12:37 p.m., officers initiated an attempt to locate for 31-year-old Fargo resident Jeremiah McDonald at a residence in the 2500 block of 9th Street North. While searching the area, they discovered a white Jeep Patriot in a parking lot. After running the license plate through dispatch, it was identified as recently stolen out of Moorhead.

Officers approached the vehicle, which was occupied by two individuals. However, the suspects fled at a high rate of speed, evading detention. The individuals were identified as 30-year-old Blade Kenyon, with no permanent address, and 22-year-old Fargo resident Mackenzie Higdem.

The stolen Jeep was later observed in Moorhead, where the Moorhead Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle briefly before terminating the chase due to the suspects’ dangerous driving behavior. The vehicle subsequently re-entered Fargo where it was last seen near the intersection of 25th Street and 32nd Avenue South.

While investigating a second, separate vehicle theft from last Friday, officers learned that the victim was in contact with McDonald, who had active warrants for robbery, 3rd degree assault and gross misdemeanor theft among other drug and drug paraphernalia related warrants.

He was located and taken into custody without incident.

Simultaneously, officers received a report from a citizen who observed the stolen Jeep being parked in a garage at a property in the 3500 block of 42nd Street South The citizen overheard the suspects discussing their earlier attempt to evade police. Officers quickly responded to the scene, locating the stolen Jeep along with Kenyon and Higdem. Kenyon surrendered without incident, while Higdem attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers.

Kenyon was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and five outstanding Cass County warrants.

Higdem was arrested for refusal to halt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
