(BISMARCK, ND) — North Dakota emergency dispatchers are now considered first responders.
Governor Kelly Armstrong signed two bills to make the classification official and allow dispatchers to be eligible for public safety retirement plans. The governor believes the benefit will attract more dispatchers throughout the state.
First responder benefits will be available starting August 1st.
